MONTH END!

Hi All,

I gave out the month end reports today for you to look at and sign.  I will expect them back signed by Friday, Feb. 7.

We will begin reporting on the Olympics this week.  I will be asking students to make a daily report on their sport if it is happening.  The students are not  expected to submit a report, but they can if they want.

We will begin a new unit in Math, "Operations with Fractions".  There will be a mini math quiz this Friday as usual.

We continue to study rocks and the students will be drawing a cartoon of the rock cycle.  Most students did very well on the Mineral Quiz!

In Socials, the students are learning about "Julius Caesar".

We are reading "Old Yeller" in L.A.. As well, we are writing reading response journals.  I will send them home in the report card.

The French teacher Ms. Dvorak is quite pleased with class and their ability to stay on task.

Ms. Petersen continues to enjoy working with our class doing art, personal planning and spelling.

If you have any questions, please contact me on the blog or email me.

Sincerely,

Mrs. MacKinnon

Yawn, man is any one else tired??

Hello All,

Kind of a hectic day.  We tried to complete most of the Math that was over due.  Then we spent time working on our Science.  I will reiterate that the deadline is Dec. 13, NO EXCEPTIONS, this is because the students choose the medium of the project and how they were going to present it.

We started writing Journals today, and practicing our editing.

Good Night,

MM

Monday midnight???

Hello Everyone,
We studied BEDMAS again with decimals today.  Math is due tomorrow.  Tuesday we start writing in our journals.. I will ask that the students  stake these home once a month for you to read.  There is something special about reading your child's writing.
We are just about finished "Flipped".  The students are still preparing for their science presentation, starting Dec. 13.
We are booked to go skating on Dec. 17.  Details to come.
Good Night,
MM
